Dot Weir
Dot has been dedicated to the specialty of wound and ostomy care for over four decades. Her diverse career has spanned acute care, home care, and long-term care, as well as seven years in the wound care industry. Since 2001, she has focused her practice in outpatient care. Dot has been Board Certified by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Certification Board since 1995 and by the American Board of Wound Management since 2004. She has authored and co-authored numerous papers, consensus documents, and 14 book chapters. In addition to her clinical and academic contributions, Dot plays an active leadership role in advancing wound care worldwide. She is Co-Chair of the Symposium on Advanced Wound Care, was part of the founding faculty for the Wound Certification Prep Course, and serves as Secretary of the International Wound Infection Institute. She is a frequent national and international lecturer and consultant, sharing her expertise across all aspects of wound management.
