GENERAL CONDITION

These guidelines apply to all poster presentations for the Global Wound Conference 2024.


A. Confirmation

All presenters must register for the conference no later than the 31st of September 2024 . Any presenter not registered by this date is subject to removal from the program. Presenters can register at https://www.woundconference.com.my/register.

B. Deadline For Uploading Abstracts

  1. All poster authors should upload their completed abstracts (not the actual poster or a PowerPoint file) via the abstract submission system by the 31st of September 2024
  2. Abstract submit via email will not be accepted.
  3. The file will be in Text format (PowerPoint, PDF and Word will not be accepted).
  4. Abstracts must be submitted in English.

C. Presenting Author and Registration

  1. The presenting author must register as a participant for the full conference at the latest 31st of September 2024.
  2. The scientific committee reserves the right to exclude any abstract from the scientific programme that is not followed by participant registration.
  3. Please note that exhibitor registrations are not valid for presenting authors.

D. Contents of your abstract

  1. The maximum word count for an abstract is 250, excluding the title, authors, and affiliations. The scientific committee reserves the right to edit abstracts that exceed the word limit.
  2. Abstracts that exceed the word limit, authors, or affiliations may be edited by the scientific committee at their discretion.
  3. Write the title of the abstract in CAPITAL LETTERS and keep it as brief as possible.
  4. Do not write any identifying features such as names of authors, hospitals, medical schools, clinics, or cities in the title or abstract text. A “blind” review process will be used.
  5. The abstract must include the following:
    Aim: Clearly state the purpose of the abstract.
    Methods: Describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects clearly.
    Results: Present your results in a logical sequence in text, table, and illustrations.
    Conclusions: Emphasize new and important aspects of the study (perhaps as a discussion section) and the conclusions that are drawn from them.
  6. Use of brand names: Generic names must be used for any product or company references. At the bottom of the abstract page, the brand name can be added as a reference.
  7. Papers containing brand names/company names in the abstract text (i.e. not in a reference at the bottom of the page) may be rejected for this reason only. The scientific committee reserves the right to replace any brand name with a generic name without further notice.
  8. Abstracts contents previously presented at the Global Wound Conference will be rejected unless has a substantial increase in data.

E. Reviewing

  1. The Scientific Committee will review the abstract and email the results.
  2. Please verify that your email address (submitter and presenting author) is correct as it will be used for contacting you.
  3. The Scientific Committee reserves the right not to give detailed information as to why an abstract is rejected.
  4. Notification of acceptance or rejection of the abstract will be sent to the submitter in September 2024.
  5. It is the responsibility of all submitters to ensure that all research is conducted in accordance with local, state, federal, and international laws as well as ethical standards pertaining to both people and animals. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to reject any submitted abstract that is believed to violate these principles.

F. Result

  1. An email will be sent in September 2024 to those abstracts accepted by the scientific committee and guidelines on preparing the e-posters.
