Elizabeth Babalola Nigeria

Elizabeth Babalola
I am Mrs. Elizabeth Babalola, a dedicated Deputy Director of Nursing Services at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC), Ile-Ife. With over 34 years of clinical experience, my journey in nursing has been driven by a passion for excellence and a deep commitment to mentoring the next generation of nurses. As a preceptor, I have guided countless undergraduate nurses, helping them develop both skill and character. My passion for wound care led me to pioneer the Wound Care Unit at OAUTHC after participating in international wound care conferences in the UK, Canada, and Tanzania. This vision further birthed Wound Nigeria, where I have proudly served as President since its founding three years ago. Within OAUTHC, I currently serve as the Head of the Orthopaedics Unit and Head of Professional Medical Billing, roles that allow me to merge clinical expertise with administrative leadership to improve patient outcomes and service delivery. Each step in my career has been fueled by a desire to advance healthcare in Nigeria. I remain committed to innovation, mentorship, and the ongoing transformation of nursing practice, always striving to leave a lasting legacy of impact and excellence.
