Yazid Bajuri Malaysia

Prof. Dr. Inv Mohd Yazid Bajuri is a Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and esteemed academician at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He holds a Bachelor of Medicine, a Master of Surgery in Orthopaedics, and a PhD in Visual Informatics (IVI), all from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Since becoming an orthopaedic surgeon in 2009, he has established himself as a leading authority in Foot and Ankle Surgery, having performed the highest number of such procedures in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. He has authored over 150 scientific publications, including articles in high-impact journals. He completed advanced subspecialty training under two globally renowned foot and ankle surgeons: Professor Beat Hintermann in Switzerland and Professor Rohan Rajan in the United Kingdom. Since 2015, he has headed the Advanced Foot & Ankle and Diabetic Foot Services Unit at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre (UKMMC). Prof. Dr. Yazid is widely respected for his passion for education and innovation. He is currently authoring his second book aimed at young doctors, following the success of his first publication, The Design, Analysis and Production of a Uniaxial Fixator for the Elbow (2020). In recognition of his service and dedication, he was awarded the Excellent Service Award in 2016. As an active innovator, he has developed and commercialized several impactful medical products. Among them is the MyB Prosthetic Limb, designed to allow up to 180° flexion—enabling users to perform activities such as yoga and other flexible movements with ease. His other innovations, including MyB Ortho Shoes and the MyB Air Walker, have significantly improved the mobility and quality of life for diabetic foot patients across the country. Other than that, Virtual Reality in Total Ankle Replacement Surgery is one his innovations that allows surgeons to simulate procedures in a highly realistic, risk-free environment, improving precision, confidence, and patient outcomes. By integrating VR into orthopaedics, Prof. Dr. Yazid aims to elevate surgical standards and make advanced foot and ankle procedures more accessible and effective. He has accumulated more than 30 gold awards for his innovations at both national and international levels.
