Dr Nikki Frescos clinical background is in podiatry, diabetes foot disease and wound management. She has over 25 years’ experience in clinical practice as an experienced podiatrist, credentialled advanced wound care practitioner and Fellow of Wounds Australia. Nikki is a practicing clinician, educator and researcher, she has published extensively and presented on diabetes foot disease, wound management, and wound related pain nationally and internationally. Nikki currently works at Northern Health podiatry services, she is the study coordinator for randomised control trials on chronic leg ulcers at the Austin Hospital and is the Research Development Lead at the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. Her passion is teaching on prevention and management of DFD. She is a volunteer educator teaching health care workers in the Pacific region on wound management and the prevention and management of Diabetes Foot Disease. Nikki is the Vice Chair of the Australian Wound and Skin Alliance and Vice-president elect for the Asia Pacific Association of Diabetes Limb Prevention; She formally represents Australia in several wound care alliances and diabetes foot prevention associations and is on the editorial board of three wound journals.
