Arya Tjipta, M.D., Ph.D.
Born on July 13th, 1985, in Medan, North Sumatera, Indonesia, I embarked on a medical journey driven by a passion for improving lives. I completed my medical degree in plastic surgery in 2014, which marked the beginning of my dedication to advanced surgical care. My commitment to mastering complex surgical procedures led me to pursue a Craniomaxillofacial Fellowship at Penn University, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where I honed my skills in facial reconstructions, completing the fellowship in 2020.
In 2023, I further advanced my academic pursuits by earning a Ph.D., deepening my expertise and contributing to the integration of research and clinical practice. My current professional interests focus on wound care and oncoplastic reconstructive surgery, where I strive to make significant contributions to these critical fields.
I serve as a clinician at Haji Adam Malik General Hospital in Medan, where I am committed to delivering the highest standard of care to my patients. Since 2009, I have also been a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara, where I take great pride in educating and mentoring the next generation of medical professionals.
In addition to my clinical and academic roles, I am passionately committed to social responsibility. In 2021, I established the "We Care We Share" foundation, based in Medan, North Sumatera. This foundation has provided assistance to over 5,000 orphans, the underprivileged, and those in need, particularly through mass circumcisions and surgeries for cleft lip and palate. Every Friday, I offer free surgical procedures at my clinic as part of my "Sedekah Profesi" (Professional Charity) initiative, giving back to the community that has supported me throughout my journey.
On a personal note, I am blessed with a supportive family—my loving wife and three wonderful children—who continually inspire and ground me in all that I do.
This ongoing journey is fueled by a commitment to excellence, compassion, and the pursuit of better healthcare for all.
